Reigning champion NISA, Thangmeiband held onto its first half goal to win by a solitary goal against SSU, Singjamei in a tenth round match of the 3rd Manipur State League football tournament at Lilong Chajing ground today.
NISA's point tally also reached 24 with the win away from home and placed the team on top of the points standing, two more than TRUGPU, Nambol.
N Jimmy chested down a cross from O Santosh and found O Bidyasagar after wrong-footing SSU's Uttam.
Bidyasagar made no mistake from close range in the 17th minute for the only goal of the match.
Owing to its participation in the Federation Cup Zonal Level tournament at Agartala recently, the match between NISA and SSU had fo be deferred and played today.
