Imphal, November 23 2009:
Along with paying floral tributes to slain Sanjit and Rabina on the occasion of completing 4 months of July 23 Khwairamband Bazar firing incident, a public meeting held at the Khurai Sajor Leikai residence of slain Sanjit here today has decided to carry on the ongoing agitation until fulfilment of the public demands.
The meeting also supported the stand of vice president of JAC Rabina Lamabam Premila to commit suicide in case the ongoing public agitation fails.
Denouncing finalisation of the date for holding by-election to the Yaiskul Assembly Constituency without any regard to the four-month old public agitation, the meeting also affirmed that stand of the JACs of Rabina and Sanjit to boycott the by-election.
With regard to the remarks made by Minister Loken on July 23 incident and its aftermath public agitation, the meeting decided to denounce the Minister as public enemy if he does not withdraw his remarks and apologise to the people.
Prior to the public meeting, led by the bereaved family members, a large number of people paid floral tributes to the photographs of Rabina and Sanjit during the memorial services held both at Khwairamband Bazar and Khurai Sajor Leikai.
