TB Member Secy refutes report

Member Secretary of Manipur State TB Society Dr AK Khamba Singh has refuted the report of asking the Health Secretary, the Health Director and the Secretary of State TB Society by the State Government to refund an amount of Rs 1.61 lakhs which had been given as salary for three months to nine contract employees appointed in the State TB Society without the Government's approval and in violation of the Manipur Government Public Servant Personnel Liabilities Act, 2006.Reacting to a news report which appeared in the July 3 edition of this paper, the Member Secretary, in a statement, clarified that there were no instances of any appointments made to the post of Nodal Officers in the Manipur State TB Society.
However, there are some posts for which the appointment had been made by the Manipur State TB Society in accordance with the guidelines of the Central TB Division, Government of India, though there is no specific order that the appointment should be made through the District Societies concerned.
Moreover, there is no order from the side of the Government of Manipur stating that the amount of the salary paid should be paid from the pockets of the Secretary Health, Director Health and Member Secretary of Manipur State TB Society, the statement added.
