Imphal, January 11: The 11th Annual Function show organized by the Meitei Traditional Dance Teaching School and performing Centre, Imphal was held this evening at JN Manipur Dance Academy hall Imphal.

Prof Ch Manihar former Secretary Manipur State Kala Academy and L Joychandra Director JN Manipur Dance Academy graced the occasion as chief guest and president respectively.

Elam Indira Devi, director Meitei Traditional Dance Teaching School and Performing Centre giving the key note address said that the main objectives of the centre are to impart intense training in both practical and theory classes by conducting six classes for three days in a week both the in the morning and in the daytime including Sunday and second Saturday.

The thrust is to impart regular dance practice with the main objective of enabling the students to carry to their regular and successful performances in the annual shows.

It would also give opportunities to the students to perform traditional and cultural dance in front of the temples of various Umang Lai and Mandaps of the lands during the periods of Lai Haraoba and religions festivals, etc.
