State education minister, L Jayentakumar today said that the class boycott stir of the three students' bodies retreated owing the pressures from people, not by the effort of the government.
He conveyed this speaking at the felicitation function of students of Mega Manipur School, Yaralpat who won various awards in inter-state junior Red Cross Study Cum Training held at Bhubaneswar from December 25 to 30 last year.
The students participated in the event under the sponsorship of the Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, the education minister further said passing a year without education is similar to back a year in the development process of the state.
If a government rules, there should have activities which people disagree.
But it will be wrong befalling misfortune consequence of an unfortunate incident to the innocent students, the minister said expressing strong protest against using students as tool to get certain goal.
Today, when it was announced that the class boycott stir suspended, all section of people are happy.
He credited the suspension of class boycott stir to the media stating that voice of educationists, intellectuals and societies with regard to the loss to be suffered by the society out of the keeping students out of school was behind the retreat of the stir by the students' bodies.
As a minister of education, he feels happy at the most, Jayentakumar added.
