CorCom calls for unified struggle

Imphal, December 17, 2011:
The Coordination Committee of seven UG groups (KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK (Pro), RPF, UNLF and UPPK) has called for a unified revolution against India government to regain lost soverignity of Manipur.
Issuing a statement in connection with the anniversary of 1917, December 19 Kuki Revolt, the CorCom stated that since times immemorial, the people of Manipur both in the hills and the valleys have united faced any threat against the Manipuri society.
Upholding this spirit of unity and brotherhood, Kukis in alliance with some Meeteis revolted against the British Empire from December 19, 1917 till the fag end of 1919 when the British government tried to take the Kukis to France as bonded labourers for deployment in relation with the First World War.
The same spirit of brotherhood remained among the various communities till the annexation of Manipur into the Indian Union and infusing communal ill feelings among the people.
Since then revolutionary parties in both hills and plain, have are fighting against the Indian Union to regain lost freedom of Manipur.
However, the India government playing divide and rule policy among the hills and the valley people.
In such a situation, it is very important for the revolutionary organisations both in the hills and the valley to unite and fight against the India government for achieve the common goal, the CorCom exhorted.
