Irengbam Chaoren calls upon united struggle
RPF President Chaoren greets people on the 31st anniversary of it's armed wing PLA

Imphal, September 24 2009: President of the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF), Irengbam Chaoren has extended its warm greetings and respect to the people of the state on the 31st Anniversary of its armed wing, the People Liberation Army (PLA), while also saluting and paying respectful homage to its beloved comrades who laid down their lives in the revolutionary cause.

In a greeting message dispatched to media houses, the RPF president, I Chaoren reiterates that the present State of affairs in Manipur killings of people, creating sense of hatred and enmity among the communities, oppression and repression which are a daily feature is nothing but the result of the wrongs instigation by the 'Indian regime' while calling upon the compatriots to launch a united revolutionary struggle to ward off 'foreign domination' so that the mistakes can be rectified and the present impasse be ameliorated.

The faulty policy and agendas of the 'Indian regime' have led to unemployment of many people, since opportunities for employment are few many have taken recourse to illegal and immoral means for livelihood.

The revolutionary groups are accused of all these mess by them but the naked is nothing but a ploy carved out by the Indian regime for continuance of their rule and Indianisation of the land.

Pointing out that the root cause of all problems that plague Manipur and resultant underdevelopment in comparison with other nations of the world is the continuance of 'Indian colonialism' in the land, Chaoren stated that so long as Indian colonialism prevails in the land it is impossible to establish a society based on equity, justice and self sufficiency.

In order to bring a new change so that Manipur could stand shoulder to shoulder with the developed nations of the world, to bring an end to the Indian rule is the foremost task.

Having fully convinced and realising this fact, a sustained armed struggle for liberation of Manipur has been launched since the last so many years and as of now it is the only means for the same, Chaoren asserted.

He stated, however, the 'Indian regime' is desperately trying to show the rightful and justified struggle of the Manipuris as an internal problem of India thereby denying its legitimacy.

They are trying hard to project the struggle as a separatist movement by putting into backburner the historically established fact of their forced annexation of the land and it has heightened tension and 'conflict between Manipur and India'.

Therefore, to bring an end to this conflict, the root cause of which is the colonisation and continued occupation of Manipur, and for restoration of freedom and sovereignty to the people of Manipur for peace and tranquility, it is high time that India adopts an honest and sincere approach.

Irengbam Chaoren asserted that the Indian regime must know that RPF would never compromise the sovereignty of Manipur with any other sort of negotiations.

Had the Indian regime been honest and sincere in recognising the sovereignty and independence of Manipur which had 2000 years old history and people's right to self determination there is no question of RPF shying away from entering into negotiation and talk.

Yet, neither such an initiative nor a proposal is forthcoming from the Indian side till now.

The 'Indian regime' speaks for a political solution but the reality is their continued reliance on the might of power and arms.

Their intention is very obvious from the deployment of armed personnel in every nook and corner of Manipur and their indulgence in operations against the people.

Therefore, their tall claims of bringing in peace in the land are nothing but a ploy to deceive the people of Manipur and our people should not entertain any such false idea, Chaoren contended.

The RPF chief asserted, India can never suppress the revolutionary struggle of Manipur.

But in the guise of suppression of the revolutionary struggle the Indian regime is indulging an 'unjustified act of excessive human rights violations' and killings on daily basis.

Along with this, in order to create a negative impression of the revolutionaries in the eyes of the people, they are creating many armed gangs posing as revolutionaries and are hell bent on spreading canards among the young and immature revolutionary cadre thereby creating confusion within the revolutionary organisations.

The mushrooming of revolutionary organisations and occurrences of undesirable incidents and cases involving it are the handiwork of Indian regime.

Irengbam Chaoren alleged that the Indian regime is also indulging in acts of implanting canards and creating ill feeling and suspicions among the different communities of the land, who are living in peace and harmony over the years, as part of an evil design to weaken the revolutionary struggle of the Manipuri people.

"The talks being carried out with ethnic based militant groups and suspension of operation (SoO) is nothing but a ploy to do away the united revolutionary struggle of the Manipuri People.

It will be a misplaced notion to think of achieving our aspirations by disarmament of Manipur; the proverbial phrase of a monkey's distribution of pieces of bread.

Therefore it will be in the best of interests for all people to make efforts to build up and launch a unified struggle rather than having faith in the wrong politics initiated by the Indian regime," Chaoren observed.

The unrestrained killing of people by Police commandos on a regular basis and unrestrained free hand given to them by the so-called Manipur Government is a part of a well thought out plan of the Indian regime to cause a fratricide war in the land.

The Government of Manipur might think of the killing incident of Khwairamband market as a necessary act to maintain peace; however it serves no purposes at all as shared by the later developments.

On the other hand it helped in furthering the Indian Colonialism and Colonisation of the land, he maintained.

"Therefore, ought to strongly condemn and protest the policy and practices of encouraging fratricide perpetrated and being perpetuated by the Manipur government at the instance of the Indian regime.

The task before us is to launch a united struggle to put an end to such kind of inhuman and uncalled acts," I Chaoren asserted.

Chaoren added, "it is because of such misplaced actions of the Indian regime that led to the recent killing of non-Manipuris by unknown armed assailants since the nature of relationship to be maintained and observed between Manipur and India is yet to be properly defined, the unrestrained influx of Indians and their settlement have caused many problems and affects the land in many spheres, though they have regarded it as a part and process of national integration.

It clearly testifies that the Indian migrants are used as instruments in safeguarding and furthering the cause of imperialism and colonialism." As there is a sustained revolutionary movement going on in full swing, and the nature of relationship between Manipur and India yet to be defined and in order to avoid any unwanted incident, it is high time for India to initiate a repatriation policy for their citizens from Manipur.

Calling the people, Chaoren stated that the revolutionary struggle in Manipur is the historic revolutionary struggle of the Manipuri people.

The present struggle is treading the same path followed by the fore-fathers.

The outfit feels proud to follow this ideal path and for the responsibilities shoulder upon the outfit and it is not afraid of giving lives for 'this noble cause.' Therefore in spite of hardships and sufferings, the outfit is compelled to undergo, because of the acts against the liberation movement by the enemies the outfit will never deviate from its path.

"The RPF and it revolutionary army PLA is now ready to face the might of innumerable Indian armed forces by whatsoever means available to us at any time.

Though no parallel could be drawn about the numbers of armed personals we are embarking on providing better training to our soldiers we are in the process of acquiring arms and ammunitions to face our enemies.

Despite hurdles posed by topography of our land, the PLA has grown in leaps and bounds.

Though, at present we are not in a position to launch large-scale offensive against the enemy we are confident of doing so in the immediate future," Chaoren contended.

Addressing its comrades, the RPF President conveyed it is high time for the outfit to introspect in which path it is treading on and whether people of Manipur has reposed their faith in them or not. "There was a time where our mothers and people gave us tended cooperation and support whenever we are in a disadvantageous situation or position in the event of our encounter with the Indian forces putting at risk their safety in peril.

But now the situation appears to have taken a diametrically opposite direction.

Signs of unwelcoming gestures, voices of dissent to our presence are heard the many localities and protest meeting are found held in many corners of the land against our acts.

In such a scenario, it has become an urgent necessity for us to clearly discern our dos and don'ts otherwise it will prove costly for us," Chaoren enthuses.

Pointing out that the people are supreme in a revolutionary struggle, Chaoren conveyed that revolutionaries carry out the wishes and aspirations of the people, in another sense; they are messengers of the people.

So a revolution cannot achieve success without the people are clearly shown by above statement.

Unfortunately, in Manipur, the situation has come to such a stage that people are in a state of even taking up arms against the revolutionaries.

He said, it is not a positive sign for the revolutionary struggle.

Stating that in the history of revolutionary struggle there are instances of pitching in a community or few individuals against revolutionary movements as compradors, Chaoren observed that in a larger context, regimes formed by such collaborators are found channelising their might and resources in suppressing revolutionary activities.

He however noted that instances of people standing against revolutionary groups are seldom found in history.

Therefore attention of the fellow revolutionary organisations are drawn to seriously ponder and reflect upon these ripe for such an exercise so that the situation did not turn out of hand.

Chaoren reiterate that the present chaotic states of affairs in Manipur are the result of the wrongs instigation by the Indian regime.

He observed that the faulty policy and agendas have led to unemployment of many people.

As opportunities for employment are few many have taken recourse to illegal and immoral means for livelihood.

The revolutionary groups are accused of all these mess by them but the fact is nothing but a ploy carved out by the Indian regime for continuance of their rule and Indianisation of the land.
