The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) resolved to work with renewed vigour to enable all those who have been deprived education even today because of class boycott, to attend classes and schools to reopen.
This was decided by the General Conference of the students' body in their General Body Meeting which was held from January 2 to January 6 at Eureka High School, Khongjom.
Calling class boycott as wrong, it said students should never boycott classes.
The general conference also resolved to start a public campaign on the importance of education and deliberate on what constitutes education and also work for communitisation of education.
The general conference also unanimously elected 43 Executive members for the year 2010-11.Some of the key office bearers of the who will look after the affairs of the Desam H/Q are L C Santosh - president, Wangmayum Islaudin - vice-president, Moirangthem Angamba Meitei - secretary general, Salam Surchandra Meitei - secy finance, L C Bobisana - secy publicity & propaganda, Pukhrambam Premchandra - secy edu & academic affairs etc.
