Tamenglong, January 16, 2010: Normal lives have been paralyzing since the first week of December last year as the power transformer that supplied electricity to Tamenglong Ward No III- Model Village and Ward No IV-Gadailong and other parts broke down due to power overload.

The people are extremely displeased over the late replacement of the transformer and power failure in the district HQs.

The power transformer located at Gadai Bazaar (Medical Gate) Tamenglong was reported to have broke down on 13 December last year.Till today the department failed to replace or repair and provide alternative power supply to the two biggest Wards including the VIP lines.

This power transformer covered District Hospital, BSNL micro wave, official bungalows, Institutions and other important government and NGOs office.

In the meantime, a reliable source informed that BSNL Tamenglong has plans to install GSM (Global Mobile Service) and expand the services to the people living here at Tamenglong.

However, due to lack of power at the place the BSNL authority could not take up the works immediately, the source said.
