Imphal, February 20 2009: The Manipur People Party today has demanded that in solving the SDO and his staffs murder case and finding the culprits, NSCN (IM) and government of India should take major role while pressing the state government to declare the murderers as "terrorists" and take up action at the international level.

Addressing a press conference here at MPP office today, MLA O Joy of the party said people assumed the murder related with communal feeling and avenge and wanted to know who the killers are and why they were murdered.

People want to award befitting punishment to the culprits.

It will not be a great task to find the culprits behind the murder.

Government should hear the voices of the civil societies and act accordingly to bring an end to the present turmoil in the state, he demanded.

Government should investigate and find the reasons behind not knowing the opening of NSCN(IM) camp in the state by the DC and SP Ukhrul, he further demanded.

MPP President, Dr Chandramani said that taking the arising situation lightly by the government on claiming of precious life of people is an unfortunate thing.

Culprits should be found out at the quickest way and punsh them.

He also assured that MPP will help the state government in finding out the culprits.

He also appealed the abductors to release the three other persons in their captivity without any conditions.

Before this leaders of the MPP called on the families of the victims.

They are not going as political party level but as a sharing to the shocks of the bereaved families, he said.

The president also lauded the people all sections and community who came out and joined the protest against the cruel murder of the SDO and his staffs.

RK Anand, MLA also present in the meeting while observing that NSCN(IM) hand in the murder may have been true as there were reports of abducting the SDO and his staffs by armed men from the DC complex.

As the ground rules of the ceasefire agreement between NSCN(IM) and GOI is not clearly enforce, they able to abduct them in front of the DC Ukhrul, he added.

He also alleged that the abduction of people by the NSCN(IM) may also be a part of the hidden agenda of the outfit and GOI.

The incident is apparently targeted to the Meetei community.

It an unfortunate thing and condemnable, he said.

After calling on with the families of the Victims, MPP leaders also called on with the chief minister and in it, they have put clearly to the chief minister that they will help in finding the culprits in the murder case.

During the audience, MPP has also drew the attention of the chief minister toward the demands of the JAC, Dr Chandramani informed the reporters.
