Imphal, October 25 2009:
In a last request made to the people and the Government of Manipur, Thokchom Chinglensana, husband of Late Thokchom Ongbi Rabina, today urged the Government to "find a solution which will be acceptable to men and God to the over three month-old impasse" between the government and the Apunba Lup.
An open statement signed and issued by Chinglensana today implored the state government to bring a conclusion to the demands of the Apunba Lup and make it visible.
If the government feels that the demands are not reasonable to be met, let it be made known to the people as soon as possible instead of remaining adamant.
The open complaint recalled that demanding justice in the July 23 shooting incident and exemplary punishment to the erring police commando personnel in the incident, JACs, Apunba Lup and three students' bodies are launching different forms of agitations for the last around three months.
It further said that displease with the government remaining in deaf mute, they lodge complaint with the Manipur Human Rights Commission.
But, the enquiry initiated by the commission has also been suspended at the half way due to intervention by the government.
