Acting on a complaint petition filed on the controversial death of a woman while delivering a child at Langol View Clinic on June 6 this year, the Manipur Human Rights Commission has asked for the relevant documents from the respondents including the Managing Director of the Clinic and Dr I Chourjit Singh.
The rights panel issued its directives on June 20 following the complaint filed by the father of the deceased woman, Chongtham Chaoba Singh (65) of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai and her husband N Premkishwar Singh of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai.
The deceased woman is identified as Chongtham Dayabati Devi (33).The complainants alleged that Dayabati died due to deficiency of service and medical negligence.
They prayed before the Commission to recommend for an expert committee to examine the records to give its opinion on the matter.
They also sought the recommendations for compensation for the loss of the life of a woman.
The Commission has asked the respondents to furnish the documents by July 7.
