Mother of deceased Chungkham Sanjit today said she was satisfied with CBI coming out with certain truth behind the murder of her son.
She wants the harshest punishment to be given to those guilty in the case.
Speaking to some media persons, who visited her house at Khurai Kongpal in Imphal East district, a day after the CBI submitted chargesheet, Chungkham Taratombi said that even though it was time consuming, at least the CBI investigation into the case has unearthed the truth behind the murder of her son.
"I want the murderers to be punished as per the degree of their involvement in the murder of my son," Taratombi said adding that she feels like taking revenge against the murderer of her son.
Meanwhile, all the nine cops charge-sheeted in the July 23, 2009 'fake-encounter' incident will be arrested by September 27 as per order from the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West district.
The CBI has charge-sheeted the nine cops including to Manipur police inspectors.
Meanwhile, reacting to the development prominent advocate of Manipur Khaidem Mani said that filing of charge sheets against the police personnel in Manipur is a rare case and this development will serve as a good precedent for the state.
"There have been so many reports of fake encounters in Manipur involving security forces personnel and all this while the security forces have been going scot-free," expressed Khaidem Mani.
Manipur erupted after the Delhi based Tehelka magazine revealed the photo sequence about the arrest and cold-blood killing of Sanjit.
The police claimed that it was an encounter.
A pregnant woman's life was claimed allegedly by the bullets of the police.
Curfew was imposed for several days by the Apunba Lup against the incident and for four months educational instititions were shut in Imphal and its vicinity by the students' bodies.
