To the departing year
Pangambam Nandakumar *
O Departing mother, 2013
I don't want to let you go
Embrace me in your bosom,
Nourish me with four seasons
From dawn to dusk
Opening the eastern corridor
Wiping the tears of Iron Lady
Breaking her chains
Your every memorable moment
Would remain etch in golden ink
In the heart of every creature.
O mother year, 2013
I don't want to let you go
Please kiss me, hug me,
Embrace me in your bosom
Singing lullaby soothingly
To put me to sleep on your lap.
O Mother, 2013
If you have to leave us
Hand over your motherly love
To all your children
Who are deprived of love and care
Feed them milk to quench their thirst
Like oasis in desert
Bless the bride, New Year 2014
With peace and prosperity
Health and contentment
And, above all, development.
Wishing everyone a blessed Happy New Year, 2014.
