To Those Concern
Soffy Nongmeikapam *
( I )
In our world where
Half of history is hiding the truth,
We lie, People lie
with words and silence.
Isn't it funny...
To realise we live inside
The lies we believe.
The world is a lie.
History is a lie-
A set of lies agreed upon.
Well,
The truth is messy.
It is very raw.
Yes, uncomfortable.
We cannot blame
for preferring lies .
( II )
In my world where
'lies' is like a fire
That keeps me warm
And sometimes
Burn me to death,
Truth is replaced by silence.
Silence becomes a lie
Because often in silence
The cruellest lies are told.
Liars spin their own tales
When lying is done with words
Trust is fragile.
I fit in a world of lies...
But would I fit forever?
Lies may be beautiful,
But the Truth, we face in the end.
