Thunderbolt
Donil Shijagurumayum *
Preoccupied by 'Thornbirds'
by an author from wellington
was me in a train departing
from the capital to my college,
Scandalized seeing the lady
flaunting in a seagreen dress
reminds me a Sicilian phrase
'you got hit by a Thunderbolt',
I did get hit by the thunderbolt
I am no William Wordsworth
rewriting 'The solitary Reaper'
but her naughty twinkling eyes
still tickle my obstinate mind
her meek voice is a melody
haunting me nights after nights
her breathtaking long eyelash
enhance the beauty of her eyes
Sigh! My stubborn soul craves
such hundred Thunderbolts.
