The two roads that diverged again

It was a lazy afternoon with soft music in the verandah. Anele checked her watch-4:30 pm. Half an hour later, she had to visit her cousins. The winds blew and the songs continued but a tinge of worry seemed to prick her. Yes, a worry -like every teenager about the future and hence.
Those 10 exams seem to have ended just a few days ago. But a year had already passed. And just so much had happened during that time. It was all a mix of good and bad. As hoped earlier, she had met new people, new friends, went through a variety of experiences, tasting good luck and bad times as well.
Career options, plans and choices would soon be knocking at the door. But she knew that consistent hard work was the only key to unlock that door. She had to divide her time between school, tuitions, socializing and indulge in some leisure as well. But she happened to live in an age where 'success is counted sweetest.' And she disliked the tension that came with it!
Well, one year hence, everything would change with the end of school life. She would embark on a new journey with friends and contemporaries. And they have to fight their own battles. But the paths would be different. And those paths would predict the future to some extent.
For some, it is the chosen path as desired by their well-wishers. For some others, it is a different road to be paved by their own ambitions and dreams. And for the remaining few, the decision will be tougher if the blue-prints are not ready beforehand. But once a road has been chosen, life may never offer them another chance to experience a journey on the other road.
Nevertheless, they have to go deeper, 'explore, dream and discover.' Perhaps, in that journey, they will encounter Success. But it is not about only a day's work or sacrifice; but a culmination of supreme efforts and sincerity that would reflect one day.
But to Anele, 'Good but not perfect' seemed to be a reasonable phrase. The future is a consequence of the present. We have to keep going in life's highway; unchained by the past and undeterred by pessimism. Well, the two roads diverged again and both of them had their own charm.
But the decision has to be firm and fixed. LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL WITH ITS THORNS AND ROSES. That was a thought for the day!
