The Ungrateful Kite
Lalit Rajkumar *
There's the kite flying
High above the lot
Proudly. It's the kite
Made under the keen eyes of the maker
And flown lovingly by the flier.
It demands successfully its needs
Since there's enough yarn
So there seems a never-ending
Tie between the two
With the string in between.
Now, when there's no more
Yarn to be supplied;
The kite is much incurious
About his flier,
For he loves to mount higher.
And higher. Until
He frees himself from the tied tie;
Only to be brought back to the earth
To be amongst the dusts.
For it deserves to be there.
