The Mute Tree
Sanasam Pratibimb *
The tree at the foothills of Baruni Hill,
At Gouranagar, near which I stand,
Is a witness .
How things have changed!
Then and now,
You are no longer with me,
Though the photograph with
Me together,
In the Distant past.
This tree has also, with rustling leaves consoling, seen a king-lived and died.
