Qualifications :

Centre for Human Resource Development (CHRD) :

Associate Professor
Essential :

a) Master’s Degree in Social Science with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate
b) Ph.D or published work of equivalent standard in the relevant field / Human Development/ Economics of Education
c) 5 years teaching and/or research experience in the field mentioned above
d) Publications in reputed journals in the above mentioned field.

Desirable :
a) Specialisation in the field of Education/Economics of Education, Human Development, Human Resource Development/Management, Development studies
b) Capability of undertaking independent research in collaboration with national and international organizations
c) Ability to supervise and guide doctoral research leading to Ph.D
d) Familiarity with econometric packages
e) Experience in public policy analysis studies and field studies
f) Knowledge of Kannada (atleast to speak).

Assistant Professor

Essential :
a) Master’s Degree in Social Science with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate
b) Ph.D or published work of equivalent standard in the relevant field / Human Development/ Economics of Education
c) 3 years teaching and/or research experience in the field mentioned above
d) Publications in reputed journals in the above mentioned field.

Desirable :
a) Specialisation in the field of Education/Economics of Education, Human Development, Development studies, Geography, Rural Development
b) Capability of undertaking independent research in collaboration with national and international organizations
c) Ability to supervise and guide doctoral research leading to Ph.D
d) Familiarity with econometric packages
e) Experience in public policy analysis studies and field studies
f) Knowledge of Kannada (atleast to speak).

Centre for Economic Studies and Policy (CESP)

Associate Professor

Essential :

a) Master’s Degree in Economics with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate
b) Ph.D or published work of equivalent standard in the subject
c) 5 years teaching and/or research experience in the subject
d) Publications in reputed journals in the subject.

Desirable :
(All related to Industrial Economics/Infrastructure-Energy Economics/Economic History)
a) Capability of undertaking independent research in collaboration with national and international organizations
b) Experience in guiding doctoral research leading to Ph.D
c) Ability to mobilize funds for research and training activities from government agencies and other national and international organizations
d) Ability to teach and reseach in quantitative economics
e) Publications in the specialized journals of national and international recognition.

Assistant Professor

Essential :

a) Master’s Degree in Economics with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate
b) Ph.D or published work of equivalent standard in the subject
c) 3 years teaching and/or research experience in the subject
d) Publications in reputed journals in the subject.

Desirable :
a) Specialisation in Internal Economics
b) Capability of undertaking independent research in collaboration with national and international organizations.

Centre for Political Institutions, Governance and Development (CPIGD)

Associate Professor

Essential :
a) Master’s Degree in Political Science/International Relations/Public Administration with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate
b) Ph.D or published work of equivalent standard in the subject
c) 5 years teaching and/or research experience in the above field
d) Publications in reputed journals in the above field.

Desirable:
a) Specialisation in political theory/political economy/international relations/Indian government and politics
b) Capability of undertaking independent research in collaboration with national and international organizations
c) Extending horizon of projects and research in the Centre
d) Ability to supervise and guide doctoral research leading to Ph.D.

Agricultural Development and Rural Transformation Centre (ADRTC) :

Assistant Professor

Essential :

a) Master’s Degree in Agriculture Economics/Economics/Rural Development with 50% marks in the aggregate
b) Ph.D or published work of equivalent standard in the subject
c) 3 years teaching and/or research experience in the subject
d) Publications in the subject.

Desirable :
a) Capability of undertaking independent research in collaboration with national and international organizations
b) Ability to supervise and guide doctoral research leading to Ph.D
c) Ability to mobilize funds for research activities of ISEC from government agencies and other national and international organizations
d) Preference will be given to candidates having experience in conducting training programmes of similar institutions and willing to participate in teaching/research programme
e) Familiarity with computer and statistical packages

Age Limit:

* Normally below 40 years for Associate Professor and below 35 years for Assistant Professor.
* Age shall be calculated as on last date prescribed for receipt of completed applications.
* Proof of age is SSLC/Transfer Certificate
* The age limit is relaxed without any limit in case of employees of the Institute.
* In case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, the age limit is relaxable up to 5 years.
* Candidates claiming relaxation of age are required to produce caste certificate issued by a competent authority.
* Candidates not fulfilling the age criterion may also apply subject to their applications being open to be considered only in the event of no suitable candidate from among those who fulfill the age criterion being available.

Duration:

The appointment for the above posts will be on contract basis for a period of 5 years, including one year of probation. Depending on the evaluation at the end of the contract period, the appointment shall either be made permanent or the contract extended or terminated.

Scale of Pay: Associate Professor : Rs. 12000-420-18300
Assistant Professor : Rs. 8000-275-13500

Exceptionally qualified candidates suitable for the post may be offered higher pay, but not exceeding the maximum for the post.

Selection Procedure: Selection will be made on the basis of interview of short-listed candidates. However, mere satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for the interview. Depending upon the number of applications received in relation to number of vacancies, the Institute reserves the right to call only a limited number of candidates after preliminary screening with reference to their qualifications, suitability, experience, etc. The Selection Committee may relax qualifications in exceptional cases and also consider suitable candidates from outside the list of applicants.

Other terms of appointment remaining the same, for the physically handicapped candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed up to 10 years (15 yrs for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC). However the age of the candidate shall be such that he/she will be able to serve the Institute at least for a period of 5 years, the retirement is being 60 years prevailing in the Institute
