Does everyone get the "Monday Blues"? I wake up in the morning convinced I'd rather have the flu than head to the office........
I need a reason to wake up in the morning, besides having to go to the bathroom.
Now at office, I've been staring at the computer for fifteen minutes, over the piles of work and mundane tasks feeling like I just can't take another second of this.
I have 3 hours to go and I really don't think I'm going to make it.
My brain is literally blank.
Every so often I attempt a little work, but it makes me feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin.
I'd entertain myself with a computer game or something but we all have our desks strategically placed so that anyone at anytime can check up on what we are working on (and they do).
I can't beleive its only Monday. I rack my brain day in and day out trying to come up with ways to get me out of here; for good.
This can't possibly be my existance.
YOU KNOW YOU WORK IN CORPORATE OFFICE IF:
- You've sat at the same desk for 4 years and worked for three different companies.
- Your resume is on a diskette in your pocket.
- You get really excited about a 2% pay raise.
- Your biggest loss from a system crash is that you lose your best jokes.
- You sit in a cubicle smaller than your bedroom closet.
- Salaries of the members on the Executive Board are higher than all the Third World countries' annual budgets combined.
- Fun is when issues are assigned to someone else.
- You see a good looking person and know it is a visitor.
- Art involves a white board.
- You're already late on the assignment you just got.
- When 100% of your time means 20 hours.
- Your boss' favorite lines are "when you get a few minutes", "in your spare time", "when you're freed up", and "I have an opportunity for you."
- Your relatives and family describe your job as "works with computers".
It may be the same old boring thing day in and day out but I do it, partially because it is what I know and am comfortable with.
I was taught at a young age, I must get a job to survive.
Not true.
I hope that one day I will be able to work for myself, knowing very well that living with anxiety attacks is not an acceptable way to survive.
I am sure many of you feels the same thing . I will come up with a solution in my next article . Till then cya .
