Lies
Yanglem Akash Singh *
They're all pretty lies
Jokes and laughs hidin those cries
False promises of never bidding goodbyes
It's all temporary like ice.
Tight and solid, but hollow inside
All excuses to neglect and hide
Pouring in more lies for the truth has died
And to chide and only chide.
Recited like rules you don't abide
Scary how they're closely woven
Comes one and follow a dozen
Delicate and fragile hearts
Played with until they're broken.
So we lie, are lied to and lie about how we aren't lying
But they're just false statements we end up buying.
