Imitating good things from others

There is nothing wrong to imitate good things from others . Whether we emulate from the West or from the East or from the Center that does not matter. What is good for the society is good for you and I . What is good for all is also good for you and I; not the other way round.

What is good for me may not be good for all oth ers. For instance nepotism is beneficial for a few but certainly not for the masses. If Yoga is beneficial for health then why should we be reluctant to embrace it. You may not like a Baba teaching yoga but you can always learn from a beautiful lady or a girl.

There is no restriction while choosing your yoga teacher. Yoga is now made compulsory in educational institutions. There is nothing wrong in it. We may do little tinkering by adding some local indigenous exercises.

Taking Tibetan 'Sang' (rice beer) helps digestion and increases bone density; we can take it regularly, provided it is allowed to be manufactured and consumed. Even the ladies take it for energy and strong backbone . Our local rice beer is its equivalence. I don’t know why raids are carried out on local brewers .

Local traditional/cultural brew is out of the ambit of Prohibition. This is my understanding of law. I may be terribly wrong because my LLB degree(DU) is completely 'Dukee' bound though not fake. I really appreciate the lady police officer who is cracking down upon the intoxicating consumables. But my sincere appeal to the Police & Excise is that they need not destroy all the things they have hauled or captured or confiscated.

These can be used as a good source of State income. Suppose they capture a truck carrying foreign liquor; instead of destroying the entire drinks, the bottles may be sold off to the Wet- States or to the neighboring country. Again if you catch bundles of drugs (medicines); sell them to the pharmacies outside the State if you don’t have faith in your own State pharmacies.

Even for Ganja , Opium or Heroine we can always supply them to the legalized purchasers or users for a price. For example we can sent the heroine and opium to those morphine manufactures (legal). Ganja and Bhang may safely be exported to the places/ States where these are sold legally , Banaras, Puri etc.

Mediterranean food which includes olive, vegetables, meat and wine is good for heart. We can manage everything but wine ; it is a big problem; we are compromising with our health . I would like to quote a Italian lady who is 105 years old, "for better digestion I drink beer ,in case of appetite loss I drink white wine, in case of low blood pressure I drink red wine, in case of high blood pressure I drink scotch, in case of cold I drink brandy".

When asked, when she takes water? she said, "I was never so sick". Though the authenticity of the story is doubtful but the spirit of life given by the spirits is springing. My wife recently visited jail to inspect the well-being of the women inmates . She found out that 99% of the women in jail are destitute illiterates from poor background .

Only a few are educated and from affluent section. Perhaps there is a system in some countries through which the criminality of the criminals (not for the heinous crimes) are reviewed for mercy or amnesty and redemption. I believe if we introduce such a system most of our jails will become less crowded. And the amount of money we are spending on jails can be reduced drastically.

You will be surprised to know that more than 20 Muslim countries have banned Talaq, I mean triple Talaq. If it is a complete ban on Talaq(divorce) it will be a crime against humanity. Divorce is a universal right; just see and envy the beautiful third or fourth wives of Presidents of France, USA etc. What about giving the right of triple Talq to women only. There is again possibility of misusing it. Let the Apex court decide in the best interest of the country.

Imitating good things from others is a virtue. Pakistan has already banned Triple Talaq. Centre is cleaning the river Ganga and next will be Yamuna ; why can't we start cleaning Nambul before Imphal(river). Two crore people are getting employment very year( encompassing all the sectors including tourism, IT and infrastructure development)in the country ; those who have come back from Trump land are also getting employment here.

It is no more 'brain drain' now but 'brain gain'. Thanks to the US President. We have 7 lacs educated unemployed in our State; if we start giving employment to 2 lacs every year by the end of the fourth year there will be no unemployment in the State. Tourism, infrastructure development, handloom- handicraft, food-processing including local brew manufacturing (only for export) can create enough jobs to bring about immense economic growth in the State.

GST is going to be another blessing for the small poor states or crudely put non-producing, non-performing lazy states. A former Vice Chancellor of Manipur University told me that in Japan everyone is engaged in some occupation or the other; so they don’t have time for strikes or bandhs or blockades.

He meant to say that we are abundantly engaged in bandhs or strikes or blockades because we are hugely unemployed and free. It is a ponderable point.
