Don’t we need a Manipur centric interest?

Being a part of the union of India, there is unmistakably a kind of strong iron like grip on the mobility and momentum of the fate of Manipur is a known reality - a fact.

The present state of affair unlike the previous bygone era in terms speed and extensiveness such that our fate is closely and intimately inter-related with the global affairs due to the emergence of global village with the ever revolutionary advancement in science and technology.

The global arena is such that wherein the major powers are competing in weaving its own network of favorable strategic conditions and settings catering and attuning to their strategic goals and outcomes. It has become another dimension which will surely have a deciding impact and influence on the trajectory of the fate of Manipur.

Can we afford to take risks in blindly and slavishly attaching our fate with the grand and lofty endeavor of so and so powerful entity in a one sided fashion. We may have already encountered the collateral damage associated with such grand designs and pursuits.

Are our individual interest and opportunity paramount and sacrosanct than the collective interest and fate? Do we really need to overtly act in pursuance of our individual interest to deceive the collective intelligence contrary to the actual and manifest fact and reality?

Don’t we have enough evidences of how we have been enduring sufferings of being subjected to bear heavy losses due to the trade-off between our collective interest and the so and so lofty goals and designs?

Then, how do we think and act to preserve and promote our collective interest for the better sojourn of our fate? Can we afford to have formidable enemies which can tinker with our destiny? What should be the right approach and attitude to thwart or ward off the ominous encounters and misfortunes?

How far have we been benefited by playing the ever-twisting game of our roots and identity? Who really are we? Don’t we have enough courage to do logical and realistic fact finding approach? Is it due to our self-centric opportunistic mindset?

How do we go about overcoming the present predicament of sheer entrapment in a limited enclosure as a collective? It demands unwavering commitment and valor with precise calculation and maneuver.

One visibly handicapped aspect of the greater Manipuri population beyond the territory of Manipur is that they usually have very weak political representation in wherever they have been settling. It is one arena where the concerned may need to do a lot of hard work.

This may eventually help in connecting with the outside world with meaningful returns and strengthened voice. In other words, we may be able to resurrect our own version of friends and allies maximizing our lobbying power for the betterment of greater Manipuri community.

As Manipuris have been found to be less politically aware and active, one needs to be proactive in strengthening their sense of political being hood. To be political being among other dimensions is a significant aspect of a human community striving for prolongs survival and relevance.

We can think of meaningful mass mobilization for their rightful political representation. To be aware is the first step for active sensitization of the status of being an inescapable political being hood.

Who will come and care about our safety and well being other than ourselves? Has it not been proved loud and clear by the series of recently unfolding events? Are we still not caring to do deep soul searching of what are the dangers still lurking around us in the vast turbulent and chaotic blurry horizon of space and time?

Don’t we require and have the right to a just level playing field to participate in the mankind race for development and progress? Are we provided or are we striving to attain it?
