Deity of Death
Salam Tomba *
You, the so-called Deity of Death!
you will be astonished.
Don't look for me
among those waiting for death
I haven't left my oar yet
I will row my boat in
cleaving your chest apart.
Death!
You will not be at ease with me
I'm a man
unconcerned to death
unworried of the next birth.
When then
you are after me hiding secretly
to take me!
that is a show of cowardice
I don't feel at ease with that kind of quirk.
I will come when the time comes
don't take meen roped, then
I will march on my own feet
treading in front of you.
Let me tell you this one:
if you think you will rack me
it I don't have a place in you
toss me out with your curses
at the secret recess of the poet.
My soul transforming into words
let me vanish in the form of poem
for births, births and many births to come.
Allow it to be
my next birth.
