Conveying Message of Peace
Chongtham Ongbi Subadani Devi *
The mothers in twin
Standing in green robes
Spectacular for all
Known both as sister hills.
Appeared as living beings
From the mother's womb
Set foot to mortal land.
The two souls returned back
Without delay
In the roles of mothers
Joined the human race
With lovely names.
On the elder sister's hill top
Resides the Tampha deity
On the younger sister's hill top
Settled the abode
Of Ayang Leima Panthoibi.
The rich coniferous forest
Fruit bearing standing plants
Green forest partly dense
All remained intact
Undisturbed by anyone
Protected by Bamdiarians.
The wake of spring seaaon
Decked in the ear
Bunch of Kusum, Kombirei, Leiri
Overwhelmed in rejoice
Situated on the hill tops
The abode of two mothers
Offer floral tributes
With presentations and offerings.
Blessed are you hillocks
What's the charm as human
See the mortal life
All in confusion
Inhuman fights
Tormentation and disturbance.
But! Mother
You represent peace
Elder-younger sister hills.
Someone, a late comer
Is keen in your tales
A tale untold
Swallowed by the waves of time.
