Abstract
Akham Nilabir *
I rambled once
on a foggy day of winter
riding my bicycle.
The fog remained suspended long
in the atmosphere.
So impatient to go out
for such a weather
decades not seen .
Going farther and farther aimlessly
excited seeing the veiled country
late on a lonesome village road
I have not gone before
the fog dissipated ,
afternoon sun appeared
giving a pleasant apricity .
Countryside mild and gentle.
Sprawling paddy fields
brown with stubble
on both sides of the road,
quiet and peaceful
extending at the east
to the foot of the blue hill yonder,
a tree grove In the middle
mist still resting at its foot.
Some clouds floating
at the brae, top and above the hill .
A moment I longed to sit there
by the paddy field
under the tree,
branches wide spreading
with a maiden
of my imagination long ago.
