A discourse with my soul
Dr Sheronica Laishram *
Do I have to smile in this cage forever?
Adrift and smothered.
I lie when I say I am fine,
My soul laments over my smile,
And questions our harmony.
Do I have to be content for being in your arms,
Or mourn for the wings clipped.
Should I be grateful for living this dream with you,
Or bereaved over losing mine.
Long lost are the hopes, lay tired is my spirit.
With success in your hand, twinkle in your eyes,
Forward you go.
Colder my senses, larger my void.
Unleash me, let my flight soar.
But here I am in this cage, Forsaken.
