Defying the scorching heat of the Delhi's summer sun, students of prestigious colleges and Universities in the National Capital poured in to register their resentment and anger against the shameful acts and deliberate negligence of Manipur University. The gathering crowd shouted slogans like 'Long name is not a Crime', 'Justice for Dr. TS Gangte', 'Stop discrimination', 'We want Justice', 'Manipur University – SHAME, SHAME'.

The crowd then marched towards the Manipur Bhawan, SP Marg but were met with the police barricade in front of the Chanakyapuri Police Station. The marchers were, however, only armed with a two-page memorandum demanding the immediate convening of a Special Medal Presentation Ceremony to give away the Dr TS Gangte Memorial Gold medal and also to constitute a High Level Inquiry Committee to look into the lapses in order to punish the guilty.
Thereafter, the President of the GWA-YW escorted by the police personnel and accompanied by representatives of the above mentioned Students organizations submitted the Memorandum to the Hon'ble Union Minister for Human Resources Development in his residence and also to His Excellency the Governor of Manipur, through the Resident Commissioner, Manipur Bhawan, New Delhi.
