Narendra Modi, most powerful and most rated Number one Chief Minister of Gujarat was speaking at function to launch world's greenest city drive of the AMC here at the Gujarat University Convention Centre on 31st July, 2010.
In his speech, Modi cited the Manorama Devi rape case of Manipurwhere the victim was allegedly raped and killed by Security personals, who declared her as a terrorist. "CBI did nothing and now no one was even discussing it any further despite a protest. Delhi defends anti-India people like Ishrat Jahan but has no time for India lovers like Manorama Devi".
A day after CBI's pleas to shift the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case outside Gujarat, Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Centre, asking whether it considered Gujarat a part of "enemy" country. Do you not consider Gujarat as part of India. Why is Gujarat being treated as if it was part of an enemy State. Are judges of Gujarat useless. Other court of the country are good but are courts in Gujarat bad?" he asked.
Modi accused Congrees of playing vote bank politics on the fake encounter case and blatantly using the CBI . "There is an attempt to pollute the environment of Gujarat.
This is an insult of the judicial system of Gujarat..its judges..its lawyers, he said. The CM accused the Centre of targeting him for the last eight years.
"They are trying to malign my name for the last eight years. But now they have started maligning the judicial system of the state. I will not tolerate this. This boils my blood. They can attack me but why the judicial system" ?he asked.
