Imphal, April 26 2009: As the final match of the 4th Cash Prize (L) Koijam Yaima Memorial Veteran Football Tournament 2009 organised by the XI Star Sporting, Akampat played today at its playground, FVWA clinched the champion's trophy after defeating its opponent in tie break.

The final match today was graced by the DGP, Manipur Police, Y Joykumar as chief guest.

Kh Kirankumar, Retired Director, Horticulture was the president of the closing ceremony.

The final match today was played between IVFA, Canchipur and FVWA.

Both teams played a drawn match in the first half with scores 2-2.FVWA beat IVFA 7-6 in the tie break.

Both teams' players played the match with full determination to win.

They played with almost equal skillls and tactics.

It was difficult for both of them to dominate over one another.

It was in the 39th minute of the match that the first goal of the match was scored by L Surchandra of IVFA.

But the score was soon equalise in the 49th minute in the second half by G Dhanakumar of FVWA by heading a ball passed by Rajen Khanganba.

The second goal of FVWA was scored by Rajen Khanganba while K sanatomba scored the second goal of IVFA.

In the tie break, IVFA scored four goals while FVWA scored five goals and won the trophy.

VSAC, CCpur won the fair play team's trophy.

Winner team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 20,000 along with the trohpy while Runners up team was awarded Rs 10,000 with the trophy.

IEVFA won the thrd place's award with Rs 5,000 cash prize.

Rajen KhaNganba of FVWA was awarded the title of best player.

Top scorer's award went to Ch Deven of IVFA.

U Muhindro of XI-Star won the best goalkeeper's award.
