The World Football Body, Football F�d�ration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) will be installing artificial synthetic turf in Manipur in order to develop football in the state and the country.
The above statement was kept by Secretary, All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), L Ranjit Roy today in a press meet held at the office of AMFA, Khuman Lampak Imphal.
FIFA will be installing the artificial synthetic turf at their own cost under its project "Win In India With India Programme" to develop footbal in the country and the state.
FIFA will be installing artificial turfs in five football grounds in India.
Among the other grounds, Manipur is in the top pririty list.
The other states in the list are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya and Punjab.
AMFA has decided to install the artificial turf at RAU ground, Lairikyengbam Leikai, Lamlong Thongkhong.
All required documents that are needed for the installation are ready, Ranjit Roy said.
He also expressed gratitude to the state government for its heartfelt concern over the matter and valuable cooperation in arranging the necessary documents.
A team of representatives of the world football body FIFA will be arriving Imphal to inspect the ground on September third week, he said.
If the artificial turf is installed, Manipur will be the second state which will have this artificial turf in India.
The first artificial turf has been installed in Goa some years back.
