In its pursuit towards fulfilling the goal of 'Mission Olympic', the Army is scouting the sporting talent throughout the country.
A team of Army Sports Institute, Pune, Army Boys Sports Company Shillong, Artillery Centre, Nasik and MADRAS Engineering Group (MEG) centre Bangalore will be recruiting the sportsmen from Manipur from March 4 to March 6 at Koirengei, Imphal, a PIB (Defence Wing) statement informed.
According to the statement, the sporting discipline that will be considered in the Red Shield Sporting Talent Scout and induction Rally are Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Canoeing, Diving, Kayaking, Fencing, Football, Hockey, Weight Lifting, and Wrestling.
The first category of the recruitment will be for boys between 9-16 years with a minimum of five pass certificate while the second category will be for boys between 17-21 and minimum 10th pass.
Candidates should reach the venue from 4-6March withproff of DOB, qualification in original and photostated copies and two passport size and testimonials of level of participation in sporting event.
