Imphal, May 25 2009: The Relay hunger strike which has been observing by the Sharmila Kanba Lup (SAKAL) in support to the more than eight years old hunger strike of Irom Sharmila demanding repeal of the Armed Forces Special Power Act 1958 at PDA complex, Porompat has completed 117 days today.

Around 60 unmarried women of Naran Konjhin under Bishnupur District took part at the hunger strike today.

One of the volunteer in the hunger strike expressed deep sorrow condemning the government authorities that they remained quite selfishly thinking only for own security.

The hunger strike in Toubal district conducted under SAKAL has also completed 108 days today.

Around 50 women volunteers of Yairipok Khongnaban Heitroi Pokpi Mahila Mandal staged the relay hunger strike at Yairipok Bazaar.
