Imphal, May 14 2011: System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method is being implemented successfully in Imphal West district.

It was come across during a field visit conducted by a team of State Agriculture Department officials and representatives of Apunba Loumee Lup, Thoubal, Young Progressive Farmers' Association and All Manipur Young Progressive Farmers' Association.

The team was led by Deputy Director (Soil Chemist) Ph Rajendro today.

The method is also being implemented at around 250 paris of Shantipur, Elang Khangpokpi and Wangoo Sagol Lambi.

Speaking to reporters, Ph Rajendro said that SRI method would bring prosperity in the State as it enhances production with less expenditure.
