Imphal, April 09 2011: Properties worth over one lakh rupees have been damaged when a house at Sagolband Salam Leikai was gutted tonight around 89 pm.

The caused of the fire that partially gutted the house belonging to Akham Aman was estimated to be broken out from a candle.

Fire fighters from Imphal fire station who put into service with five fire tenders took half an hour to douse the fire.

Preliminary investigation into the incident put the lost property at Rs one Lakh.

Base transceiver station (BTS) of an Airtel tower, erected at Langol under Lamphel PS, was set afire by some unknown persons last night around 8.30 pm.

In the fire burnt, most part of the BTS has been damaged.
