Imphal, May 27 2011: A day-long seminar on 'Better accountability through legislature audit interface' was organised under the aegis of Accountant General of Manipur at Hotel Classic here today.

The inaugural function of the seminar was attended by Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly I Hemochandra as chief guest and Chairman of Public Account Committee MLA Radhabinod Koijam as guest of honour.

Speaking at the occasion, Speaker Hemochandra pointed out that setting up of Account Office and its function started very early in Manipur.

The office of the Accountant General of Manipur (AGM) has been in operation since 1974 .

The Speaker expressed unhappiness over the absent of many Ministers in the seminar today which was participated mostly by MLAs and officials of AGM.
