Jiribam, June 15 2009: Muslim students of Jiribam who came out in flying colours in the HSLC and HSE Exams 2009 were feted with meritorious award yesterday.

The meritorious award distribution function held at Babupara, Jiribam was organised by the Islamic Cultural Association and Oriental Club.

In addition to meritorious students, MS Jaman , the first muslim of Jiri to be conferred with Doctor of Philosophy in Economics by Manipur University was also honoured at the occasion.

Jiribam Hr Sec School Principal S Maniton, Oriental Club president Md Abdul Hasim, president of Islamic Cultural Association Md Abdul Jalil and Lecturer L Ranjit attended the function as presidium members.
