The District Health Mission Society Tamenglong today organized a three-day health mela at Nungba Sub-Division with Additional Chief Secretary and Chief Electoral Officer PC Lawmkunga as chief guest, Commandant of 172 Battalion of CRPF KL Lamba and Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong Sumant Singh as guest of honour and president respectively of the inaugural function.
Speaking as chief guest speech PC Lawmkunga said that the Government is concerned about the health of the citizen and has take up many steps to improve it.
Fifty years ago the Government gives milk powder to the children for nutrition but today the health awareness and health facilities are provided at the door step through outreach camp and health mela, he said.
KL Lamba while speaking in the function expressed hope that the general public would be benefited by the health mela.
Speaking at the function, Sumant Singh said that the district administration have great concern about the health of the people and has taken up many steps to improve the health through outreach camp, health camp so that the doctors can examine the sick people one after another as no sufficient doctors are posted in Tamenglong district.
Just after the inaugural function was over, the OPD was opened, where the people thronged to avail the facilities.
Twenty two stalls are serving the people in the health mela.
