Imphal, February 24 2009: A new of Child Development Project Officer under Social Welfare Department has been opened at Chakpikarong under Khengjoi Block.

Earlier ICDS Project for Khengjoi Block was implemented under Chakpikarong sub-division.

The CDPO office of ICDS Project for Khengjoi Block was opened by Chan-del A/C MLA Thangkholun on February 21.In the absence of required building at Khengjoi, the CDPO office was opened at Chakpikarong after extending one room of the SDO office there.

The opening function was attended by SDO Chakpikarong, BDO, Project Officer, CDPO Khengjoi, village chiefs and social workers.

MLA Thangkholun also dedicated a newly constructed market shed at Chakap village in Sajik Tampak to the local people on the same day.

Acting on the complaint of KSO and Kana Area Chiefs'Association, the MLA also inspected development work of the road from Chakpikarong to Sajik Tampak.

During the inspection, it was found that no watering was done after taking WBM on the road.

The road was found in a very pathetic condition as sand layer spread over WBM flew up as dust as no watering was done after taking WBM.

Taking note of the unscrupulous nature of executing the road development work, the MLA said that he would file a complaint to the Government.
