Imphal, August 20 2014: Laishram Ibomcha (50) the main accused in the Ranjita murder case has been remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.

Since morning, a large number of Yairipok locals gathered at CJM Thoubal complex as they got information of Ibomcha's appearance in the Court today.

After the crowd was driven out of the Court complex, the accused was produced before the Court of CJM Thoubal under FIR No 72 (8) 2014 of Yairipok Police Station under Section 302 IPC.

According to CJM AAP L Bimol, the Court remanded Ibomcha to judicial custody as Yairipok SDPO S Hemanta, who is the Investigating Officer of the case, deposed before the Court that charge sheet against the accused would be framed soon as investigation has been completed by almost 70 percent.
