Imphal, January 23:
Nearly 50 goods-laden trucks were damaged when suspected bandh supporters rained stones at different locations along NH-53 route today.
The stone pelting incidents reportedly took place at Langjing, Patsoi Lamkhai and Sagoltongba areas where a 12 hour bandh was enforced from 6 am today by a JAC formed in connection with the gunning down of one Chongtham Ananda Singh of Sagoltongba Mayai Leikai on january 21.A meeting attended by the youth and meira paibis organisations of Sagoltongba was also held this afternoon during which resolutions were adopted demanding investigation and clarification on the killing by all concerned.
