Imphal, August 22 2010:
Based on the unsurpassed struggle of Irom Chanu Sharmila against the infamous Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, a mime play christened Meerel Mashingkha was staged today at JN Dance Academy auditorium as a part of the hundred days campaign launched to commemorate 10 years of Sharmila's struggle.
The hundred days campaign was launched by the Just Peace Foundation since July 25 in solidarity to the Sharmila's unprecedented campaign.
Meerel Mashingkha was played by artistes of the Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory and directed by its director Yumnam Sadananda.
