Taking serious note of the fast depleting stock of fuel oils in the State on account of the indefinite blockade on Dimapur-Guwahati highway at Golaghat, the State Government has decided to ferry petroleum products along Imphal-Jiribam highway.
DGP Sahid Ahmed today convened a joint meeting of CRPF officers and IOC officials at police headquarters today and decided to ferry petroleum products along Imphal-Jiribam highway under special security arrangements from August 22, informed a source.
On the other hand, 66 loaded tankers reached Imphal from Khatkhati with CRPF escorts today.
Of all oil tankers which reached Imphal today, 31 were carrying petrol, three diesel and 32 SK Oil, added the source.
