DG Doordarshan to arrive today

Imphal, November 11 2011: The Director General of Doordarshan, Tripurari Shran is arriving in Imphal tomorrow to participate in the four-day Bheigyachandra National Festival of Classical Dance 2011 .

He will also personally over see the coverage of the festival.

During his stay in Imphal, Sharan will explore the ways and means for greater participation of Manipuri artists in the Doordarshan's National Cultural Programme.

He will also call on the Governor of Manipur, Gurbachan Jagat and the state Chief Secretary D S Poonia and will hold talks on how best to project Manipur and makeup the information deficit of the state on Doordarshan, the largest television network in the country.
