Imphal, October 29 2012: Stating that the election of Shokvao MGNREGS committee conducted by SDO/BDO Ukhrul was un-authorized, Shokvao VA has said that the Village will not adhere and respect the committee.

According to a statement issued by Headman/Awungsa AS Maransa and VA secretary MK Johnson, the Village will only abide by the resolution and Committee instituted by the village Assembly on Sept 17 and 24 and do not have authority to honour and accept the un-mandated self-styled nominated Committee.

Any Department/Authority/Individuals involved in abetting the said implementation against the Village interest will be at their own risk and the problems that might arise in the village will solely be held responsible by the SDO/BDO Ukhrul concerned and cohort, it added.
