Imphal, October 29 2009:
Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch had organised educational awareness programme on Landmine, Remnants of Explosive and Improvised Explosive Devices for volunteers from eight districts of Manipur on October 21 and 22, a belated statement issued by Honorary secretary of IRCS-M, Dr M Lala informed.
The awareness programme was facilitated by Boris Cerina, International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) expert on landmines.
IRCS-M also conducted Safer Access and First Aid Training Programme for volunteers from Imphal West, Imphal East and Tamenglong districts of Manipur from October 23 to 26 .
Further, the statement added that the students of Advanced Nursing Institute, Porompat including the Principal and the staffs of the Institute participated in the First Aid Training programme conducted by ICRS-M on October 27 and 28.The programme was supported by Disaster Management Institute, Government of Manipur.
