Relay hunger strike enters 301 day

Imphal, October 06, 2009: The relay hunger strike launched under the aegis of Sharmila Kanba Lup at Porompat PDA complex in solidarity to the struggle of Irom Sharmila completed 301 day today.

Today, around 50 member of the Kwakeithel Leimajam Leikai Nupi Lup staged the relay-hunger strike.

Government inaction towards repealing AFSPA and keeping behind Jeevan Reddy Commission's recommendation on AFSPA shows that government still wanted to killed more innocent people in the state, said joint secretary Thoudam Mema of Kwakeithel Leimajam Leikai Nupi Lup taking part in the relay-hunger strike. The agitations of the people rose up at many instant are the results of violating rights of the people by the present Ibobi led government in the state.

The Lup will continue extend support to the cause of Sharmila.
