A seven year old girl, named Rehma of Mayai Leikai was saved by troops of 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under IGAR (South) Lilong COB on September 1, a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S) informed.
She was administered first aid by the AR troops after she was bitten on the left hand by a poisonous snake while she was working at her home.
Later, she was evacuated to RIMS hospital after tying a tourniquet on the left arm.
Villagers were thankful to the troops of 28 Assam Rifles for the timely action taken to save the life and limb of the little girl, the statement added.
