Imphal, February 28 2009:
Western and Eastern Lamkang Chiefs' Associations stro-ngly condemned the repor- ted assault on the chief of Deeringkhu village and members of the women society on February 25. A press release issued by the Eastern Lamkang Chiefs' Association said that the assailants forcefully intruded into the chief's house and attacked the chief using iron rod and other weapons.
It further appealed to the authority concerned to identify and book the culprits and award befitting punishment at the earliest.
